IF: Balloon… and a Christmas Card and Contest!

I envisioned this piece this weekend as a humorous christmas card, and sketched it yesterday while I spent hours waiting at the car dealer for things to be fixed. I like the drawing for this one, but I’m not thrilled with how I colored it. Maybe I’ll go play around with the drawing again for something more my vision. But, since it’s almost friday and this is for last week’s illustration friday, I figured I’d go ahead and get it out there!
Here’s the original ‘watercolor’ version, before I started playing around with it in illustrator and photoshop. My plan was a watercolor feel, but i couldn’t get it to match my vision:

Hee heee! Very cute and wacky! I think it’s a great idea for a Christmas card, in fact, I also made cards from my kitty/balloon illo. Great minds, eh?
Also, love your tree cookies. Think I’m going to give that a try! They’d be perfect for office and client gifts!
Oh, he’s adorable! Getting a little too rotund to actually fit IN the balloon, but that’s ok. I thought your coloring was great, too.
