Illustration Friday: Launch (Rooster Sketch)
And I’m back from my art hiatus with an Illustration Friday!!
Really, I have been so busy with web design stuff, that I haven’t taken the time to draw, and that’s just sad. So I’ve had this robotic rooster in my head (he’s eventually going to be a big piece) and here’s my first attempt at a sketch of him. Doesn’t it look like he’s just launched a football into the air?
I really like this sketch so much I don’t want to mess it up by adding more… but alas I need to… Read on…
Love this upcycled art sculpture!
I spotted this at Eric Barclay’s blog last week, and figured you guys would love it… His art is always fun, but I thought this one deserved extra mention for it’s creativity :)
Mrs. Olafsen and her dog, Hercules (he made it from from the McDonald’s Happy Meal milk bottle and a light bulb-pictured at the link.)

Christmas Gift Label Downloadable Tags
I was looking back at some old posts, and I thought these deserved some front page space! Download these adorable (if I do say so myself) little gift tags for your Christmas gifts… Click here to download as a pdf or from flickr!
Make a “Little Game Box”, with an Altoids Tin and these cute downloadable cards
Here’s a great little stocking stuffer you can make yourself. A pocket sized game is a great little ‘handmade’ Holiday gift. I’ve included (almost) everything you need to make one for yourself as free downloads!… Read on…
Dragon*con Artist Report
One reason I love to go to Dragon*con is all the awesome artwork, particularly in the comic artists area! And I got to see some really fun artists, which I’ll now randomly share with you, because they are cool.
Brian Despain
I love Brian’s work… the subject matter is right up my alley–robots and all manner of coolness– , and it’s just plain gorgeous. I could just stare at the robot worlds he creates all day long–Inspiring!
Love these robots..

Illustration Friday – Paisley Meets Slither
Why of course I didn’t take the sketch I never finished for the “Slither” theme, add some quick paisleys to the background, and try to pass it off as the Paisley theme this week! How could you even think such a thing!?

Love this idea! Draw on Marshmallows…
Over at The Decorated Cookie, there’s a great tutorial for decorating your marshmallows for your summer picnics. What a fun idea! She even goes step by step on how to do the featured drawings!
It’s been a while since I added to my how to draw on food series. And to my marshmallow collection. So here is something to cover both: marshmallows for your summer barbecue. These are incredibly easy to make and take mere minutes. You can put them on lollipop sticks and display them in a glass jar on your picnic table for a treat (assuming

New Art! Ballooning Bot
So, I tried to shoehorn in my drawing of Phineas and Ferb meet The Clone Wars for the Early theme on IF last week, but (although the piece came out AWESOME–the Boy loves it!) it was kinda a cheat. So here’s another take.
Oh! Foodwhirl giveaway ends today! Go enter quick!
Here is the ballooning robot in the early morning light. I imagine he got up early, and just headed out on an adventure. Not quite sure where the winds will take him, as his craft has very little ability… Read on…
Fun with Kids: How to do a photo safari
One of the fun activities that we’ve been doing, to try to get our little video game fiend (yah, he’s a born geek) out of the house is taking a ‘photo safari’–sometimes we call it a ‘photography field trip’… The 4 year old gets possession of mommy’s point and shoot camera, and we go for a walk–sometimes through the woods, sometimes through the neighborhood. I’m actually pretty amazed at some of his shots (many are pure luck, like achieving the rule of thirds because he wiggled his hands accidentally!) but I do find it fun to look at the world… Read on…
Logo Design
Here’s a new logo design I am working on… It’s for a wellness company (yoga, acupuncture, nutrition, etc) and based on a symbol for abundance that the client liked – It’s meant to evoke a sunrise. (I’m still tweaking the design a bit, too–a few things that I’m not happy with yet!) Which do you like best?
