Hi--to Sharon: if you don't want to buy the funny Monkeys or other slip-on key identifiers, you can always make your own with Sculpey. Just take your key, mold the clay around the key to the way that satisfies you, and bake the key and the clay right in the oven. Just make sure that you leave enough head room at the top for the key to insert all the way in to the door, and it isn't a government key (they frown on that sort of thing!!)

Sculpey will break off eventually, but it is pretty sturdy if kneaded properly before baking, and is an adequate thickness.

Just a thought...Good luck!

I am so thrilled to have found you on the instructables web site! I love your work and the ideas going thru my head are never ending! I have been wanting to do photo shrinky dinks and have purchased the kits from a local art supply store, but have not had time to work on them. I have a 7 year old and twin 6 year olds. One of the twins is autistic and has mild cerebral palsy. Anyways, hence I have been looking for autism jewelry and have not been happy with the choices/prices...but now, I can make my own! I love your site! Please keep up the good work and I will be watching! Amy

Hmm, not sure that shrinkies would be the best way, unless you mean mark them by adding key chains. I think you might want to look into resin.

I've been surfing for a way to mark my many keys and wondered if this could be done with shrinky dinks. Any thoughts on that?
