Continuing the highlights from yesterday’s Skylander’s Cake, I just realized I never posted the invitation to the Skylanders Party.  I wanted to do something a little different, and most of the invites I’d seen in my travels around the web were just repurposed graphics of a selections of popular skylanders.  And while cute, I figured why not give the Bad Guy a starring role in the invitations?  So here is Kaos, inviting the Skylanders to come to a party.  And really, he promises it’s not a trap.

So, if you’d like to use this yourself, here’s a free download, because Dot is just all kinds of sweet that way!  Here’s the graphic with a more generic “you’re invited to a birthday party” message, that works for anyone child’s name (Click for large):

The gallery is at the main entrance to Cahners ComputerPlace, and is visible from the three Theater of Electricity viewing areas.

The stepped design of the framing works to focus visitors coming up the stairs to the artwork. The first section is at adult eye level from the stairs, and at younger visitor’s eye level once off the stairs.

We especially like the subject, presentation and esthetics of the art. It is the first thing visitors see going into CCP. Your ‘whimsical’ world, and juxtaposition of robot technology and humans is particularly good for us as it is the visitor’s first impression coming into CCP, and tends to humanize Computer STEM ( science, technology, engineering, math ) before they enter into the exhibit space and its rather sterile computers, robots and communication exhibits.

Your art was also a subject of a museum-wide presentation of “Art and Computer STEM” given recently.

Someone asked for this a long time ago (back when I posted the Alice in the Rose Garden & Wizard of Oz Poppies pics)… and I finally got around to doing it.

And no, I haven’t finished the robot sketch from last week…. Will post when I do!

This doll dancer was a creation from a while back–she was a character in a book I was collaborating on–so I decided to reinterpret her in watercolor. I think she shows great poise!
